Reservations

You shall only make legitimate reservations in good faith, only for use by you and/or your invited guests and/or others on whose behalf you are authorised to act. We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations with our discretion for any reason, including where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the reservations contain or resulted from a mistake or error.

We are a small establishment and can't accept any “spread booking” reservations. Cancellation of a resulting or other fraudulent booking will incur a 100% cancellation fee,

Check In & Check Out Times

Check In time: 4:30pm to midnight

Check Out time: 11:00am

Contact us if you want to extend your stay by either checking in early or checking out late. If possible we'll accommodate your request. Charges may apply.

Deposit

To confirm your room rate:-

  • 3rd party website bookings (eg FreetoBook), one night, last minute & reduced rate bookings payable in full. “Last minute” = within 14 days before arrival.

  • Any other reservations - a 50% deposit will be charged to your card on booking. The remaining balance is usually due 14 days prior to arrival. We will send you a reminder e-mail but also reserve the right to automatically post the payment to your card on file.

We reserve the right to charge your card as detailed in our cancellation policy in the event of a no-show or should the booking be cancelled by you within fourteen days of check in. By entering into this contract you are authorising us to make these charges without additional consent being required.

​You will receive an email confirmation of your booking. Please check this carefully – it is your responsibility to contact us immediately if any details are incorrect.  We are not responsible for any details you have omitted to tell us and not bound to keep your booking if our property is not suitable for you (eg you arrive with a dog, or a child, wanting a twin room or can't manage the stairs). 

For guests who arrive and book in person for the same day, full payment will be taken up front.  If paying in cash, a pre-authorisation will still be taken on a credit card and additional ID may be required and a copy held on file.

​Security Deposit

A discretionary charge of £50 ‘may’ be added to your advance payment. This amount will be refunded within 7 days of your departure provided no damage / missing items noted in the room on full change-over clean. You will be notified in writing in the event that damage / missing items noted.

Damage

Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs, cleaning and/or replacement will be charged to the registered guest. This includes (but is not limited to) damage to the bedding, pillows, linens and carpet.

Changing your Booking

Should you request to change the dates of your booking, this will be subject to availability (within a 6 month window from date of original booking) and may be subject to a higher room price.  Changes made 14 days or less from the date of check in are classed as a cancellation of booking and are subject to our cancellation terms & conditions - ie the deposit will be retained.  Changes outside of the 14 day period are subject to our cancellation terms & conditions and a £30 admin charge will be applied.

Our Cancellation Policy

A cancellation must be made in writing by email.

When a room booking is confirmed we make a firm commitment to you - our guest - to hold that room for you. As most of our guests are staying with us on holiday, reservations are often made well in advance. Re-letting cancelled accommodation may be difficult at short notice and, for us as a small business, such losses of revenue can be damaging.

More than 14 days notice – FULLY REFUNDABLE minus a £50 admin charge.  We will offer to re-book for another date, or will offer you a voucher for THE VIEWMOUNT which can be used towards your next stay with us and will be valid for twelve months from issue.  Should these options not be possible or acceptable, any deposit or payment made will be refunded to the original card minus a £50 admin charge.  To prevent money laundering, we are unable to refund any payment made to a different card number.

Less than 14 days notice - your deposit will not be refunded.  We strongly advise our guests to take out suitable holiday cancellation insurance to cover their stay for any unforeseen circumstances.   At our discretion, if given more than 48 hours notice, we may be able to re-book you for another date and carry your deposit forward but this is not guaranteed.

Non-arrival (no-show) for a booking will be treated as a cancellation and the full booking value will be charged, regardless of the reason – you will be advised to claim against your travel insurance.

9pm is classed as check in time for the purposes of cancellations (unless you notified us at the time of booking that you'll arrive later, but by no later than 11:30pm.)

We reserve the right to cancel or amend a booking in the event of circumstances beyond our control, and provide an alternative of an equal value or a full refund of any monies paid.

Should you need to curtail your stay and leave earlier than planned, the total value of your entire stay will still be due.
